Team members can learn to stop depending on books and other people's words when skiing or snowboarding and start observing and learning from individuals in their natural environment. This, in turn, teaches you how to evaluate your own behavior and make adjustments in light of your own reflections and mistakes.

In essence, you learn to avoid mistakes that cause you to fall by falling and rolling off the slope more often.
